Ask for advice on the type and size fridge that will do the job for you:
- Modern compressor fridges offer fridge or freezer mode. Some offer both at the same time.
- Consider average power consumption. This is what will make all the difference when operating your fridge from your car battery whilst the vehicle is not running.
- Consider the weight of the fridge if it will be frequently moved around and ensure it has sturdy handles.
- Capacities of up to 50L are generally ideal for up to two people or smaller families.
- If you require a large fridge but it is stretching your budget, consider buying a smaller fridge and running it as a freezer to keep the ssentials frozen and make ice for your seperate cooler to keep food fresh or refrigirated.
- Gas powered fridges are perfect for extended stays without generator power or dual batteries. Some can operate for up to 3 weeks on a 9kg gas bottle.
- Make sure it will fit in your vehicle!! A Ranger team member will happily assist you in testing this.
